Registration settings

Because your registration page is part of your event website, the registration page is created in the Website Module. Before you start creating the page, you must define your registration settings:

Registration on/off
The Registration Module is automatically switched on. You can deactivate it, for example when you want to use an external registration page, or when registrations open at a later stage.

Open/personal registration
Open registration means that anyone can register for the event. This is a good option when you’re not personally inviting all your invitees, or when you want to enable people from other networks to register. Personal registration is used when only specific people can register by using a personal registration link. Momice will automatically generate this link and place it in the Mail Module, so you can include it in your invitation. When you use this link, you can pre-fill the registration details for your guests in case needed.

Did you choose an open registration? Then it is possible to determine in advance in which list open registrations are classified. Read more.

Email address or unique code
In some cases, your invitee does not use a personal registration link, for example if you send hard copy invitations. In this case, your guests can register by entering their own details. You can choose whether you want them to register by email address or by using a personal code. You can assign specific codes to your contacts when importing your contact list into the software. If you don’t import personal codes, Momice can generate them for you. If you choose to register with an email address, Momice directly links the email address to the personal registration link.

Introducé feature
There are two types of extra guests: anonymous and personal. An anonymous extra guest is not known by name, and the organiser only needs to know the total number of extra guests. In case of a personal extra guest, the organiser needs more information about the guest, for instance name, email and/or company. Therefore, these two types require a slightly different approach.

  • In case of an anonymous guest, only the number of guests per invitee is important to the organiser. The extra guests are indicated as ‘Guest of {firstname} {lastname}’ in both the registration overview and the registration list on the day of the event.
  • In case you as an organiser want to know who your guests are bringing as an extra guest, this is called a personal extra guest.
  • When you are allowing your invitees to bring an extra guest (+1) to your event, first determine if you want to send a mail to your guest. And if you do, who you want to send the confirmation email to: your invitee, the extra guest or not at all?
  • In the Ticket Module, you can set the number of extra guests per ticket.

Closing registration
You can determine when registrations close: on a specific date and time, or when a certain number of registrations is reached. After closing, the registration page will remain visible in the menu, however an explanatory text will be displayed on the page.

Guest list
The guest list is a page on the event website, showing contacts that registered to the event. The guest list is linked to the registration page. While creating the registration page, you can decide which details should be displayed on the guest list. In case of external events, including the possibility to ‘opt out’ of the guest list is mandatory. In case of internal events, the choice is up to you as an organiser.
