Set up a mobile menu for your event website

Set up a mobile menu for your event website and choose between a vertical slider, an icon menu, or a text menu. Learn which mobile navigation works best for your event and how to customize and save the layout.

Your event website automatically adapts to smartphones and tablets. Do you want to offer mobile visitors different navigation than on desktop? You can set up a mobile menu.

You can choose from three layouts:

  • Vertical slider

  • Custom menu with icons

  • Custom menu as a text list

Which option works best depends on the stage of your event and the amount of information on your website.

Vertical slider

With the vertical slider, the mobile menu opens when a visitor taps the hamburger icon.

The pages of your event website are listed one below another in the menu. Visitors can scroll down to view all pages.

This layout is especially useful if your event website contains many pages or a lot of information.

Customize the background color

You can customize the background color of the vertical slider to match your event website's branding. In the Website Module, go to Design > Menu, select Vertical slider, and click "More options". Under Menu background color, choose your preferred color.

Set up a custom menu

When you select custom menu, click "More options" to open the mobile menu settings. Here you can customize the menu style, colors, background, icons, and other settings.

Custom start menu with icons

Do you want to give visitors direct access to the most important parts of your event website? Choose a start menu with icons.

Under "Menu style", you can choose from:

  • 1 icon per line

  • 2 icons per line

  • 3 icons per line

The menu items are displayed as icons in a grid.

When a visitor opens the event website on a mobile device, they immediately see the mobile start menu instead of the homepage. From the menu, visitors can still go to the homepage using a button.

This layout is useful shortly before and during an event because visitors can quickly navigate to the program, location, or other important information.

Custom start menu as a text list

Do you want a simple menu without an icon grid? Under "Menu style", select: Horizontal text menu.

With this option, the event website also opens directly with the start menu on mobile devices. The page titles are displayed one below another across the width of the screen, creating a clean and easy-to-scan text menu.

Visitors can also use a button in this view to go to the homepage.

Style the mobile menu

You can customize the start menu to match your event branding. Depending on the selected layout, you can adjust settings such as:

  • Background color

  • Background image

  • Text color

  • Icons and icon color

  • Line color

  • Background color menu block

  • Language button

Tip: After making changes, always check how the menu looks on a mobile screen. This helps ensure that text, colors, and icons are easy to read.

Which mobile menu should you choose?

Tip: During the lead-up to your event, use the vertical slider if you want to give visitors access to many pages and a lot of information.

Shortly before or during the event, you can switch to the icon menu or text menu. This gives visitors a more compact start screen and helps them navigate to the most important information more quickly.

This makes your event website feel more like an event app on mobile devices.

Set up and save the mobile menu

You can set up the mobile menu before sending your first email to visitors.

  1. Choose the mobile menu layout you want to use.

  2. Adjust the colors, images, and other available settings.

  3. Check how the menu appears on mobile devices.

  4. Click "Save" to save your settings.

You can switch between the different mobile menu layouts at any time.
