Get access to an event from a former colleague

Regain access to a Momice event and easily change the event owner.

Did a colleague create an event and no longer work at your organization? An Administrator can change the event owner so another user can access the event.

This article explains how to do this.

Who can change the event owner?

Only an Administrator within your Momice account can change the owner of an event.

The Administrator can use the user settings to see which events are linked to a user and assign a new owner.

Please note: Not sure who the Administrator of your Momice account is? Check within your organization. If there is no Administrator available, contact [email protected].

How to change the event owner

Are you an Administrator? Follow these steps:

  1. Log in to Momice.

  2. In the dashboard, go to "Settings".

  3. In the left-hand menu, click "Users".

  4. Find the user who is currently the owner of the event.

  5. Click the pencil icon next to this user.

  6. Open the "Events" tab.

  7. Find the correct event and click the icon with the two crossing arrows.

  8. Select the new owner.

  9. Click "Save".

The new owner will then have access to the event.

What if the original owner was the only Administrator?

If the former colleague was also the only Administrator and no one in your organization can make the change, contact [email protected].

If possible, include:

  • the event name

  • the event ID

Support can then help you restore access.

What if the event is archived?

The owner of an event cannot be changed while the event is in the archive.

In that case, contact [email protected] for help.

Tip: Include the event name and ID right away. This helps the support team assist you faster.
