With Central JavaScript, you can configure a single JavaScript code that is automatically applied to multiple events within your Momice account. This means you no longer need to add the same code to each event individually.
This is especially useful when you want to use Google Analytics, a tracking pixel, or a cookie banner across multiple event websites.
Activate Central JavaScript
To use centralized JavaScript, this feature must first be enabled for your Momice account.
Don't see the JavaScript option under Dashboard → Settings? Contact [email protected].
Once enabled, users with admin permissions can add and manage JavaScript codes themselves.
Please note: Central JavaScript is intended for accounts with a custom domain. These domains must already be configured within your Momice account.
Add a JavaScript code
You can add a JavaScript code and assign it to one or more custom domains within your account.
Open your Momice Dashboard.
Go to Settings → JavaScript.
Click Add Script.
Enter a recognizable name for the JavaScript code.
Select the domains where you want to apply the code.
Paste the JavaScript code into the designated field.
Click Save.
The JavaScript code is automatically applied to all events using the selected domains.
Manage and edit JavaScript codes
Go to Settings → JavaScript to view an overview of your configured JavaScript codes.
Here, you can:
Add new JavaScript codes.
View and edit existing JavaScript codes.
Enable or disable JavaScript codes.
Delete JavaScript codes.
View which events a JavaScript code applies to.
Edit an existing JavaScript code
Go to Settings → JavaScript.
Find the JavaScript code you want to edit.
Click the pencil icon.
Update the settings or JavaScript code as needed.
Click Save.
Please note: Changes to a centralized JavaScript code may affect all associated events.
Disable JavaScript for a specific event
By default, a Central JavaScript code is applied to all events using the selected domain.
If you don't want to use the code for a specific event, you can exclude that event.
Go to Settings → JavaScript.
Click the pencil icon next to the JavaScript code.
Open the Events tab.
Find the event for which you want to disable the JavaScript code.
Uncheck the box next to that event.
Click Save.
The JavaScript code will no longer be applied to the excluded event. It will remain active for all other associated events.
Please note: The Events tab displays all events within your Momice account that use the selected domain, regardless of which user account created them.
Configure JavaScript for an individual event
In addition to centralized JavaScript, you can still configure a separate JavaScript code for an individual event.
Open the event.
Go to Website Module → Settings → Marketing.
Enable Advanced website analytics.
Add the JavaScript code.
Click Save.
When Central JavaScript is already configured
If a centralized JavaScript code is active for an event, a notification will appear in the event's Marketing settings.
Blue notification – Account-level JavaScript: The event uses a centralized JavaScript code. No additional configuration is required.
Yellow notification – Heads up: The event uses a centralized JavaScript code and also has its own JavaScript code configured.
An event can use either a centralized JavaScript code or its own custom JavaScript code. Only one of these codes runs on an event at a time.
If an event has its own custom JavaScript code configured, it takes priority, and the Central JavaScript code will not run for that event.
Both options remain available within your Momice account, but they never run simultaneously on the same event.
Please note: Editing or removing the JavaScript code within an individual event does not disable the centralized JavaScript code. If the event no longer has its own custom JavaScript code configured, the centralized code may apply again.
Delete a centralized JavaScript code
If you no longer want to use a centralized JavaScript code, you can delete it.
Go to Settings → JavaScript.
Find the JavaScript code you want to delete.
Click the cross icon next to the code.
Review the confirmation message.
Confirm that you want to delete the JavaScript code.
Please note: Deleting a Central JavaScript code immediately removes it from all associated events. This action cannot be undone.
Important to know
Only users with admin permissions can manage Central JavaScript codes.
Central JavaScript is intended for accounts with a custom domain.
Momice does not verify the functionality of added JavaScript codes and cannot guarantee that they will work correctly.
When using tracking codes, make sure you comply with applicable privacy regulations, such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
