Data enrichment

With data enrichment you can add to your existing registration data new information

With data enrichment, you can add new information to existing registration data. For example, think of room numbers, personal codes, or additional personal details.

You can use data enrichment both during and after the registration process.

Please note

  • Always create a full export of the registration file first. Save this file as a backup in case something goes wrong during the import.

  • Always map the imported data to the correct Momice field. If you do not, existing data may be overwritten.

  • Do not remove the "Lists" column from the Excel file if you are going to import it again. If you do, participants may end up on a new list. That is why you should always export and re-import the "List name" column as well.

  • Always remove all empty columns from the Excel file. This prevents empty fields from being imported and overwriting existing data.

  • Data enrichment only works for open questions. It is not possible for closed questions or workshop questions.

Step-by-step guide

1. Create a full backup

First, create a full export of the registration file. This ensures that you always have a complete backup file if something goes wrong.

2. Export the data you want to enrich

Next, create a second export of the data you want to update. In most cases, this will be the participants who have registered.

3. Remove unnecessary columns

In this second export, keep only the following columns:

  • First name

  • Insertion

  • Last name

  • Email address

  • List name

  • Registration ID

4. Add the new column or columns

Add a new column to the file for the information you want to import. Give the column a clear name, for example:

  • Room number

  • Personal code

  • Employee ID

Want to import multiple data points? Then you can add multiple columns.

Tip: You can also edit existing columns. For example, you can change the list names in the "List" column to a different or new list. Just make sure the list name matches exactly.

5. Save the file

Save the file with a clear and recognizable name.

6. Import the file into Momice

In Momice, go to "Add invitees" and then click "Import list."

Select the completed Excel file and give the list a name. The name you choose does not matter, because the file is not imported into a new list by default.

7. Link the fields

Link the imported fields to the correct Momice fields. Then click "Next."

Do you not see the options "Momice list" and "Momice registration ID" under the Momice fields? If so, please contact [email protected]. Our support team can enable data enrichment for you.

Please note: Import the field with the new information as a hidden field, or link it to an open question in the registration form.

8. Check the import

Make sure there are no errors in the file and click "Import."

9. Verify that the data enrichment was completed correctly

The data has now been enriched.

Then check a number of participants. Click the pencil icon next to the registration. This allows you to confirm that the import was completed correctly.

After the import

You can then use the newly added information in an email as an imported field, or as a prefilled answer in the registration form.

Tip: Turn on the "Lock this field" option in the open registration question. This prevents invitees from changing the answer.
