Hidden fields

Use hidden fields on the registration form so that this data is not visible to your invitees

Updated over a week ago

In Momice software you can work with ‘Hidden fields’. This handy option can be used to make specific notes per contact: useful event details which you prefer not to display on the registration form. You can use these hidden fields in various ways.

  • When importing lists of contacts, you can add a separate column, including for example the account manager of this specific contact. When exporting the registration overview this column will be included on the overview.

  • In mailings you can use hidden fields to compose the salutation.

  • When checking in your customers on the day of the event, the hidden fields are shown on the screen. The person at the registration desk can now easily see whether the contact is a VIP or Partner, or has specific needs.

  • The inivitees never see the hidden fields, not even on the personal page.

Import and Export

Under 'Add invitees' and choose 'Import list', download the template in the Registration Module. The columns in this Excel correspond with the registration questions you have set up on the Register page in step 3 of the Website Module. Manually add an extra column: 'table arrangement'. In the column you fill in all tables per invitee.

When importing the list, the registration questions must be manually linked to the column titles of your Excel file. Momice helps you by making a suggestion. You don't want to link the hidden fields to a registration question, so in the dropdown menu here, choose 'import as hidden field'. You can now use the hidden fields in the mail and registration.

Please note: If you want to import another Excel and you use the same hidden fields, these hidden fields are already automatically linked. So you only need to import the hidden fields once.

After the event is over export the registration data and you will see all the data again in the overview.

Mailings

In mailings, you can return the hidden field 'table arrangement' to prepare the invitee. Under 'imported fields', choose 'table arrangement'. Just like an imported field, the hidden field will appear as a code in the text: {field_code}. The entered data will become visible to the invitee in the invitation. Check the example to see if the data is displayed correctly.

Registration form

You can manage your hidden fields on the Register page (Website Module, step 3). You can now mark any question in the registration form as "hidden. Open your registration question with the pencil icon. Check "Hide this question on the form".

You can determine the location of the hidden field in the form or in the Check-in app by dragging the question. To do this, use the three dots in front of the registration question.

Please note: you can only drag the questions from order if 'Show hidden fields' is checked.

Check 'Show hidden fields' if you do not want to show the hidden fields when creating your registration questions, for example. You can always edit or delete the hidden questions later.
