Sending test mails

Test your test emails several times before sending the invitation to your invitees

Before you send an email to your participants, it is important to test it carefully first. This helps you check whether the content is correct and whether the registration process works properly.

Why send a test email?

A test email helps you check, among other things:

  • spelling

  • the salutation

  • links and buttons

  • the email layout

  • the registration process

How to send a test email

  1. Go to the Mail Module.

  2. Open the draft you want to send by clicking the pencil icon.

  3. Click "Test and send".

  4. Select "Go to testing".

  5. Enter your email address and click "Send".

  6. Review the content of the email carefully.

  7. Test all links and buttons.

  8. Go through the full registration process to make sure the registration form is set up logically.

Send a test to one specific person

For a test email, Momice automatically uses the details of a random invitee from the mailing list for the salutation and imported fields.

Would you like to test the email for one specific person? Follow these steps:

  1. Click the "Select invitees from list" button.

  2. Select one invitee, such as your own email address or a colleague’s.

  3. Then go to "Test and send".

  4. Select "Go to testing".

  5. Enter your email address and click "Send".

This lets you see exactly how the salutation and other personal fields will appear for that recipient.

Add a personal message

You can add a personal message to the test email. This message will appear at the top of the email in red.

This is useful if you want to give the recipient extra context about the test.

After testing

Once you have checked everything and the email works as expected, you are ready to send the email to your participants.

Please note: display may vary by email client

The final display of an email may vary depending on the email client. Neither Momice nor you can control this.

Examples of differences include:

  • a white border along the sides of an image

  • hyperlinks shown in a different color, font, or font size

  • a button displayed as a long website link

  • a rounded button shown with a single line above and below the text

Tip

Ask the invitee to mark Momice as a trusted sender in their inbox. This can help the email display correctly.

Read more here. Then resend the email to check whether the button is displayed correctly.
