Selling paid tickets with Momice

Learn how to sell paid tickets with Momice. Discover how to activate the Paid Tickets add-on, connect Mollie, set ticket prices, and manage payments, fees, and payouts.

With the Paid Tickets add-on, you can sell paid entry tickets for your event. To use this feature, you need the Paid Tickets add-on and a connected Mollie account.

This article explains how to set this up and how fees, payments, and payouts work.

1. Activate the Paid Tickets add-on

Want to sell paid tickets? Send an email to [email protected] to request the Paid Tickets add-on.

The add-on costs €500 per license year, excluding VAT. Once activated, the feature is available for events within your Momice account.

In addition to the annual fee, there are costs per payment:

  • Momice service fee: 3% of the payment by default.

  • Mollie transaction fees: the fees Mollie charges for processing the payment. These vary depending on the payment method.

For the Momice service fee, you can choose whether your organization pays the fee or passes it on to the participant.

2. Create a Mollie account and connect it to Momice

To process payments, your organization uses its own Mollie account. Mollie processes the payments and handles payouts to the connected bank account.

Don't have a Mollie account yet? Create an account first and complete the verification process with Mollie.

Please note: only a user with administrator rights can connect the Mollie account. The connection applies to your entire Momice account, so you don't need to connect Mollie separately for each event.

3. Set up your paid tickets

Once the add-on has been activated and Mollie has been connected, you can set up your paid tickets.

  1. Open the Ticket Module > Settings.

  2. Check the financial settings, including VAT and who pays the Momice service fee.

  3. Go to Entry tickets and click the pencil icon to open an admission ticket. Set the ticket price here.

  4. If needed, add additional paid options to the registration form.

  5. Check the invoice settings and the final price for the participant.

Please note: check the financial settings before processing the first payment. These settings can no longer be changed after the first payment has been made. A test payment also counts as a payment.

Payments and payouts via Mollie

When a participant makes a payment, the payment is processed through Mollie. The Momice service fee is automatically deducted. The remaining amount is added to your Mollie account.

Mollie then handles the payout to the bank account connected to your Mollie account.

You don't need to request a payout from Momice. You can find a complete financial overview of your payments and payouts in the Mollie dashboard.
