Extra guest registration (plus 1)

How do you set up guest registration?

Please note

  • Guest registration (plus-one registration) is a more advanced form of registration. This feature is available as an add-on and requires an additional fee. To enable it, please contact [email protected].

  • This registration option is not available when paid tickets apply to your event. In this case all invitees need to purchase their own ticket.

  • You can enable or disable guest registration via: Settings Module → Advanced

Types of guests

There are two types of guests: anonymous and by name.

Anonymous guest

  • With an anonymous guest, only the total number of additional visitors is known.

  • The organizer does not know who the guest is.

  • This option is mainly used to get a better estimate of the expected number of visitors.

Personal guest

  • With a personal guest, the guest’s details are registered.

  • This allows the organizer to know exactly who is attending as a guest.

Consider your registration flow in advance

Before enabling guest registration, it is important to think about how the entire registration flow should work.

For example:

  • When an invitee cancels their registration, they can choose whether or not to also cancel their guest.

  • Do you want to send communication to guests later?

  • Make sure that the registration confirmation is also sent to the guest.

Manually adding guests

As an organizer, you can also manually add guests.

Follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Registration Module.

  2. Click the pencil icon next to the registered person.

  3. Go to the “Guests” tab.

  4. Click “Add guest”. An anonymous guest will now be created.

  5. Click the pencil icon next to the guest.

  6. Optionally fill in the name and registration details.

  7. Click “Save and back”.

Want to add another guest? Click “Add guest” again.

Registration confirmation for guests

Please note how the registration confirmation is sent when you use the “Send confirmation” button (Registration Module):

  • No email address available for the guest
    → The registration confirmation will be sent to the main invitee.

  • An email address is available for the guest
    → If you choose to send the registration confirmation to all registered attendees, the guest will receive the confirmation directly.

This happens regardless of the settings in: Settings Module → Advanced

When is the confirmation button not shown?

If you have selected not to send registration confirmations in Settings Module → Advanced, the “Send registration confirmation” button will not appear in the lightbox.
