Direct linking to website pages

Learn how to link directly to pages on your event website using a hyperlink and the correct window setting.

Every page on your event website has a unique URL. You can use this URL to send visitors directly to a specific page, for example from your website or an email.

Want to announce the speakers in an invitation? Add a hyperlink to the Speakers page. That way, visitors will go straight to the right page.

How to add a link to a website page

  1. Select the text you want to add a link to.

  2. Insert a hyperlink.

  3. Enter the URL of the correct website page.

  4. Under “Target window,” choose how the page should open.

Which target window option should you choose?

Same window

Choose same window if you want the visitor to stay in the same tab. This is usually the best option for links within your event website.

New window

Choose new window if you want the page to open in a new tab or window.

Tip: For internal links within your own event website, same window is usually the most user-friendly option.

When should you use this?

Use direct links when you want to send visitors quickly to a specific page, such as:

  • the Speakers page

  • the program

  • the registration page

  • practical information

Please note: Always check that you linked to the correct page before sending your email.
