Adding hyperlinks

Learn how to easily add hyperlinks in emails and website text editor. Follow the step-by-step instructions to insert a link, choose whether it opens in the same or a new window, and create a colored hyperlink.

You can easily add a hyperlink in the Mail Module and in your website’s text editor. This allows you to direct visitors to your event website or another external page, for example.

Add a hyperlink

Follow these steps to add a hyperlink:

  1. Copy the URL of the website you want to link to.

  2. Go to the Mail Module.

  3. Open your draft or registration confirmation.

  4. Open your text field using the pencil icon.

  5. Select the text that visitors should be able to click.

  6. In the text editor menu bar, click the hyperlink icon.

  7. Paste or type the URL into the URL field.

  8. Choose how the link should open:

    • in the same window

    • in a new window

  9. Check that the hyperlink works correctly by sending a test email.

Read here how to add a fixed item as a hyperlink, for example to link to the unsubscribe page.

Tip: External links are best opened in a new window. This keeps your own page open for the visitor.

Create a colored hyperlink

Do you want your hyperlink to stand out more? You can also give the link text a color.

Follow these steps:

  1. Type the text you want to use as a hyperlink.

  2. Underline the text.

  3. Select the text and choose the color you want.

  4. Select the text again.

  5. Then add the hyperlink using the hyperlink icon as described above.

Important

  • If you only add a hyperlink and do not give the text its own color, the color of the link may vary by email client. For example, a hyperlink may appear green, blue, or pink. You cannot control this.

  • Always check after formatting that the link still works correctly and points to the right page.
