Event change from in-person to online (and vice versa)

Here are all the steps to move your event from live to online with a handy checklist.

Would you like to change your event type, for example from an in-person event to an online event or vice versa?

You cannot change the event type yourself. Please contact us at [email protected]. We will update the event type for you.

From an in-person event to an online event

Would you like to change an in-person event to an online event? Follow the steps below.

1. Ask Momice Support to change the event type

Send an email to [email protected] and ask us to change the event type from in-person to online.

Once Support has updated the event type, the settings for an online event will become available, including the livestream options.

2. Check the maximum number of registrations

Go to Settings Module > Basic and scroll to Registration.

Check the maximum number of registrations and adjust it if needed.

Please note: Online and hybrid events have a maximum of 1,000 registrations.

Would you like to use Momice Online with audience interaction? Contact Momice to discuss the available options.

3. Check the registration confirmation

For an online event, an e-ticket is usually not necessary.

Go to the Mail Module and open the registration confirmation. Disable the e-ticket if needed.

Also review the rest of the registration confirmation. For example, update any information about the venue, arrival, or directions.

4. Check your location page

Have you added a location page to your event?

Remove the physical address if it is no longer relevant. This prevents the address from appearing in participants' calendar entries.

5. Check your other website pages

Review the other pages on your event website, such as the Homepage.

Make sure it is clear to participants that the event will now take place online. Remove or update any information that still refers to a physical location.

6. Set up the rest of your online event

After the event type has been changed, you can continue setting up the online parts of your event.

For more information, see:

Tip: After the change, review your entire event website and all automated emails. This helps make sure there is no outdated information about the in-person event.
