Set up the marketing feature for your event website

Take advantage of marketing setup to make your event website findable in search engines.

With the marketing feature in Momice, you can improve how your event website appears in search engines such as Google, Bing, and DuckDuckGo.

You can find this feature in the Website Module under Settings > Marketing.

Before you begin

Think carefully about your settings before clicking "Save".

Please note: the first saved settings may be picked up directly by search engines.

What do you enter in Marketing?

In this feature, you set up two important elements:

1. Meta title

The meta title is the title shown in search results.

This is usually the most noticeable text in search engines and has a major impact on how visitors see your page.

Best practice:

  • keep the title short and clear

  • use a maximum of 55 characters

  • make sure the title matches the topic of your event

2. Meta description

The meta description is the short text shown below the URL in search results.

This description gives visitors a quick impression of your event.

Best practice:

  • use 120 to 155 characters maximum

  • keep the text clear and inviting

  • briefly describe what the event is about

Please note: this limit includes spaces and punctuation. If you use more than 155 characters, the text may be cut off in search results.

Tips for a strong appearance in search engines

Make sure your meta title and meta description are:

  • clear

  • recognizable

  • well matched

  • structured consistently

This creates a professional and consistent appearance in search results.

SEO and findability

The marketing feature helps you set the basic information for search engines. This does not automatically mean your event website will appear at the top of search results.

That also requires Search Engine Optimization (SEO). SEO is the process of improving your website’s visibility.

How to improve the SEO of your event website

Use unique text

Only publish original content on your website. Search engines recognize duplicate text. Pages with copied content may rank lower as a result.

Write content that matches your event

Make sure the text on your website clearly relates to the topic of your event.

This helps both search engines and visitors understand what your page is about.

Use relevant keywords

Include important keywords in your content. You can use tools such as Ahrefs or Google Trends to identify relevant keywords.

Tip: use keywords naturally. Overusing them can have the opposite effect.

Write clearly and consistently

Use clear language, consistent terminology, and correct punctuation. This makes your content easier for visitors to read and clearer for search engines.

Build backlinks

Add the URL of your event website to other relevant websites as well. This is also called backlinking and can help improve visibility.

Write strong meta texts

Good meta texts help both search engines and visitors quickly understand what your page is about.

Use these guidelines:

  • meta title: maximum 55 characters

  • meta description: maximum 155 characters
