Setting up paid tickets

Learn how to set up paid tickets in Momice. Configure entry ticket prices, VAT rates, the Momice service fee, and Pay Later in the Ticket Module.

In the Ticket Module, you can configure the prices and financial settings for your paid entry tickets. This includes setting ticket prices, VAT rates, and deciding who pays the Momice service fee.

Please note: Check all financial settings before making the first payment. These settings cannot be changed after the first payment, including test payments.

Before you begin

Make sure that:

  • The Paid Tickets add-on has been activated.

  • Your Mollie account is connected to Momice.

Haven't connected Mollie yet? Read Connect your Mollie account to Momice.

1. Choose who pays the Momice service fee

Go to Ticket Module → Settings.

Momice charges a standard service fee of 3% per payment. You can decide who pays this fee:

  • Your organization pays: The Momice service fee is not added to the ticket price paid by the participant.

  • The participant pays: The Momice service fee is added to the ticket price paid by the participant.

Please note: This setting applies to all entry tickets within the event.

In addition to the Momice service fee, your organization pays transaction fees to Mollie for processing payments. These fees vary depending on the payment method.

2. Set the ticket price and VAT rate

Set the price and VAT rate for each entry ticket:

  1. Go to Ticket Module → Entry Tickets.

  2. Open the entry ticket by clicking the pencil icon.

  3. Enter the ticket price.

  4. Check the VAT rate.

  5. Check the final ticket price displayed by Momice.

  6. Save your changes.

Repeat these steps for any other paid entry tickets.

Please note: The ticket price displayed by Momice always includes VAT.

For example, if you want to receive a specific amount excluding VAT and charge VAT on top of that amount, you must include the VAT in the ticket price you enter. Always check the final ticket price that Momice displays to the participant.

Your organization is responsible for setting the correct VAT rate. If you're unsure, consult your finance department.

3. Enable Pay Later if needed

Do you want to allow participants to complete their registration and pay at a later time?

Enable Pay Later via Ticket Module → Settings.

The participant will receive an email with a payment link. A spot will be reserved for the participant until the payment is completed.

After completing the payment, the participant will receive the registration confirmation with the e-ticket and invoice.

You can enable or disable Pay Later for each event.

4. Check the settings before the first payment

Before making a payment, check:

  • The ticket prices

  • The final price paid by the participant

  • The VAT rates

  • Who pays the Momice service fee

  • The Pay Later setting

  • The invoice details via Ticket Module → Invoice

Please note: Financial settings cannot be changed after the first payment. This also applies if the first payment is a test payment.

Make sure you have checked all settings before making a payment.

Offering extra paid options

Do you want to offer a workshop, dinner, or another paid option in addition to the entry ticket? You can add extra paid options to the registration form.
